In an Exclusive chat with Gujarat Headline, Actor Nilesh Lalwani AKA Saajan Patel from upcoming musical rom com Film “Hai Apna Dil Toh Awara” shares about his childhood dream to became an Actor.
What makes you become Actor?
I am basically from Ahmedabad, and from 4th standard I was Cristal clear that I wanted to become an Actor. I have devoted my life to acting, so after that I started doing theaters. Almost 10 years I did theaters in Gujarat. I told my dad that I wanted to go Mumbai but my dad suggested me to complete my graduation and then go to Mumbai. I came to Mumbai in 2009, I did not wanted to do theaters in Mumbai. Being an outsider it was very tough to get information regarding Bollywood movie auditions. Later I came to know about this film audition and In one take I got selected for this role.
There are all youngsters in the Film so share your experience working with them?
It was Fantastic experience working with all of them. Everyone has worked somewhere before the movie had some exposure of working in Ads or Films. All were very professional and it was fun to work with them. We all had great chemistry working with each other.
Share your experience working with your Director Monjoy Mukherjee?
Truly speaking, I never felt that Monjoy is a debutant Director because he has followed world cinema a lot so he has complete knowledge about everything. Plus he has written the story, so already 50 % work is done. He is very strong in Music too. He gave 6 months workshop to all of us before the film starts rolling. He has done very detail Home work about each and every scene and aspect of the film.
Do you link to your character in the Film?
No, I am completely different from my character. In real life I am not married and I am a Single, but my character in the film Saajan Patel, who is a married guy. Second thing is I am a Sindhi guy not a Gujarati boy. In real life, I have studied in Gujarati Medium and done theaters so I know Fluent Gujarati. I am totally opposite to my character.
Music is soul of the film. Tell something about it.
I think we have top most Music in our Film. Because all the leading Bollywood Singers have give their music and voice. Just to name a few Mohit Chauhan, Papon and many more. My personal favorite is my title track. Monjoy Sir has excellence knowledge about music.
When Dil gets “Awara”, what do you do?
My “Awarapan” is to work and I am very much focused in my acting. It is my childhood dream. Acting is my True Love.
