In Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation AMC has initiated a drive for next 7 days to conduct Covid-19 testing of Super Spreaders including Milk Man, Vegetable Vendors, Grocery Shop Owners in 1906 areas across 48 wards of the city.
From today Covid-19 testing of Super Spreaders started in Navrangpura area and other areas. AMC team to visit different wards for scanning vendors. Later vendors will be issued with ID Card (identity card) which will be valid for a week. It has to be renewed every week.
A few days back many vegetable vendors in Jamalpur, Vejalpur, Kaulpur and near Prernatirth Derasar were found Coronavirus positive.
AMC has put certain vendors under Super Spreaders category who are carriers and more susceptible.
From 7th May till 15th May strict lockdown has been imposed in Ahmedabad with only milk and medicine shops to remain open as per AMC Commissioner notification.
As per latest figures Gujarat has 7013 Covid-19 cases with 4991 cases in Ahmedabad alone.
