As per orders from Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner D Thara in wake of summer season. Food samples from 6 places including in Navrangpura, Maninagar, Odhav, Raipur, Vastrapur and Vadaj areas of Ahmedabad were collected by team of Health Department as per Food Safety and Standard Act 2006. They food rooten mango artificiallly ripened using Carbide powder. 10 kilo of harmful food stuff was destroyed by Heath team. Penalty of Rs 22,700 was collected from parlour owners.
Process of collecting food samples will continue throughout the summer season by health team in interest of public health.
