AMC Budget of Rs 9482 crores for year 2023 presented

AMC Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation budget of RS 9,482 crores approved Budget of Rs 9482 crores presented with increase of Rs 1082 crores standing committee budget today, AMC Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation budget was presented by AMC Commissioner of Rs 8400 crores. All taxes were increased by AMC commissioner. Residential area was increased by Rs 7 per square meter and commercial property was increased by Rs 9 per square meter.

Vehicle tax rates were unchanged on January 31, 2023. AMC Commissioner M. Thennarsan presented a draft budget of Rs.8400 crores for next financial year 2023-24. This draft budget suggests an amendment of approximately Rs. 9482 crores revised budget was presented today by ruling BJP of Ahmedabad city. In which, apart from various projects, rulers have laid special emphasis on the project that will free Ahmedabadis from permanent road problems. It is learned that BJP authorities have emphasized in the revised budget to build more and more roads using new technology which will now bring a lot of relief to people as roads break down in the city due to various reasons like rainwater flooding in the city every monsoon.

Today AMC Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner presented Budget for year 2023 of Rs. 8400 crores against draft Budget proposal of Rs.8111 crores. New taxes have been added in the budget after 10 years. In the budget, there has been a big relief in property tax in Ahmedabad city. Along with this, new Jantri rates will not be implemented for 3 years. Property tax will be levied as per old Jantri rates for 3 years. Citizens have got a big relief against the suggestion of tax increase. Rates suggested by AMC Commissioner have been reduced in the budget. Rates for residential properties have also been reduced. An increase of Rs 7 was suggested in per square meter rate of Rs 16. In the budget, rate of residential property has been increased to Rs 20. Three rupees has also been reduced for commercial property. 37 rupees per square meter was suggested, now it has been fixed at to 34 rupees. Annual letting charge of 5 percent has been reduced to 3 percent.


Planning to replace vehicles older than 15 years of AMC and purchase of new vehicles
Number of vehicles in the city is increasing day by day so as to control increase in air pollution, as part of central government’s policy of scrapping old vehicles, AMC Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has spent Rs. 5.00 crores have been earmarked as a provision.


Construction of gymnasium in Bhopal area at cost of Rs. 1.70 crore
For purpose of building a gymnasium in Bopal area for citizens of Ahmedabad city, who can have a healthy life and youth can be strong and a healthy society can be built, Rs. 1.00 crore has been earmarked as a provision.

Ahmedabad Mayor Kitit Parmar, Standing Committee Chairman Hitesh Barot and other councillors were present in the Budget meeting . A press conference was held by AMC.
