We have five dedicated Activity Centres i.e. Japanese Language Centre, Japan Information & Study Centre, Japanese Zen Garden, KHS Kaizen Academy and Japan Cultural Centre at AMA for nurturing Japan-India Friendly Relations.

Inspired by the Success of its Five Japan Centres, AMA is proud to partner with Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan for the launch of its Sixth Centre for the promotion of Japanese Business Culture and Management Skills!

On the occasion of this eventful launch of ‘Suzuki-AMA Centre for Japanese Management’, the 76 Member Japanese Goodwill Delegation from Shizuoka Prefecture & Hamamatsu City led by Honourable Governor of Shizuoka Prefectural Government Mr. Yasutomo Suzuki; Head of the Shizuoka Prefectural Assembly Delegation on Industrial Development Mr. Morio Sugiyama; Honourable Mayor of Hamamatsu City Mr. Yusuke Nakano; Mr. Toshihiro Suzuki, Representative Director and President, Suzuki Motor Corporation; Mr. Hideaki Domichi, Former Ambassador of Japan to India, Director visited Gujarat.

The delegation included 16 representatives from Shizuoka Prefectural Government; 12 Shizuoka Prefectural Assembly Members; 15 officials from Hamamatsu City; 28 representatives from Business and Industry (Officials of Regional Diplomacy & Business Development Divisions, JETRO and Industrial Promotion Division); 12 leaders from Suzuki Motor Corporation and 5 representatives from Japanese Media and Press.
Dr. Savan Godiawala, President of AMA presented the welcome address and the Honorary Consul of Japan in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Mr. Mukesh Patel introduced the eminent dignitaries and connection between Gujarat and Shizuoka Prefecture, Ahmedabad and Hamamatsu City. On the historic occasion of Gujarat and Shizuoka Partnership Day, the memorandum of agreement between AMA and Suzuki Motor Corporation was signed in the august presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel.
Dr. Savan Godiawala, the President of AMA said, “With the contribution of Mr. Mayur R. Shah (Chairman, Prarthana Construction Pvt. Ltd.) the first activity centre “Prarthana – AMA Centre for Career Counselling and Vocational Guidance” was established on 11th February 1992. Over these years, with philanthropic support and contributions from corporate, institutions, and individuals AMA has established 59 diverse activity centres. We are very glad that in partnership with Suzuki Motor Corporation (Japan), we are launching the ‘Suzuki-AMA Centre for Japanese Management’ for the promotion of Japanese Business Culture and Management Skills! ‘Suzuki-AMA Centre for Japanese Management’ also marks a monumental milestone as the 60th Activity Centre of the Ahmedabad Management Association!” With this collaboration, through this Centre, we will promote ethical practices and responsible leadership in a Japanese way.”
Mr. Mukesh Patel, Honorary Consul of Japan in India and President, IJFA Gujarat remarked that it was a matter of great joy that the Centre for Japanese Management will be the sixth Japan Centre at in line with the Japanese Language Centre, Japanese Cultural Centre, Japan Information and Study Centre, Zen Garden and Kaizen Academy. He mentioned that it was a matter of deep satisfaction for AMA and IJFA that they have played an important role in facilitating two Sister States Relationships i.e. Hyogo-Gujarat and Shizuoka -Gujarat: and and two Sister City Relationships i.e. Kobe-Ahmedabad and Hamamatsu-Ahmedabad during the past seven years.
Mr. Toshihiro Suzuki (Representative Director and President, Suzuki Motor Corporation) addressed on vision of the centre; and Ambassador Hideaki Domichi (Former Ambassador of Japan to India, Director, Suzuki Motor Corporation); Mr. Takashi Ariyoshi (Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Japan in India); Mr. Hiroyuki Kishida (Chairman, The Shizuoka Chamber of Commerce and Industry); Mr. Kaoru Saito (President, Hamamatsu Chamber of Commerce and Industry) addressed the bilateral relations and lasting friendship between India and Japan.
Hon’ble Mayor of Hamamatsu City Mr. Yusuke Nakano addressed on Sister City Relations with Ahmedabad; Head of the Shizuoka Prefectural Assembly Delegation on Industrial Development Mr. Morio Sugiyama addressed on industrial development and bilateral trade; and Hon’ble Governor of Shizuoka Prefectural Government Mr. Yasutomo Suzuki addressed Sister State Relations with Gujarat. Mr. Yatindra Sharma (Chairman, Indo-Japanese Economic Cooperation Council) presented the concluding remarks & extended gratitude to the delegation.
