Today, more than 400 jewellery associations across the country will observes one-day strike to protest against government norms that make it mandatory to quote PAN for any transactions of Rs 2 lakhs and above.
“We are forced to call the strike on Wednesday for the government’s decision to impose PAN card for purchases above Rs two lakh,” as per All India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF).
In Gujarat also Jewellers and traders in Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat have observed strike. About Rs 7,000 crore turnover affected with the strike of Jewellers.
