On Sunday, An AirAsia plane with 161 passengers onboard lost contact with ground control after takeoff from Indonesia on the way to Singapore. Search and rescue operations by Singapore Air Force and Navy begin search operations to trace missing Air Asia flight QZ 8501 were underway.
