Even after 11 days of announcement to ban currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 with effect from November 8. After 11 days today bank has observed holiday.
Today on Sunday, troubled common man is seen running from ATM to ATM whether it is a nationalized bank or a private bank, most ATMs have shutters lowered done or display board of ATM Closed in want of cash. There are long queues at ATM counters wherever they are working.
In western Ahmedabd, at Satellite, Vastrapur, Satadhar, Sola , Prahladnagar, SG Highway and other areas most ATMs are not available due to many reasons like want to cash or are in non-working condition.
It is learn that RBI Reserve Bank of India has awarded contract of filling cash to CMS company for refilling cash in ATMs.
Earlier, ATMs were designed to handle 3 buckets with demonination of Rs 1000, Rs 500 and Rs 100. Recently, after release of new currency note of Rs 2000, ATMs are modified to handle 2 buckets of Rs 2000 and Rs 100.
Looking at present load, the cash refilled of Rs 2 lakhs can last for 2 and half to 3 hours.
