In a latest development in Ahmedabad rape case Crime Branch arrested 4 persons and produced before court, where they were given to Crime Branch on 4 days custody.
In Ahmedabad, A 31-year-old unmarried woman, a resident of Vastrapur, filed a complaint with women police station, alleging that nine persons raped her repeatedly over a period of 10 years at hotels and guest houses of Ahmedabad. However, Police has not taken complaint under sections of gang rape. According to police officials, the woman, who stays with her widow mother and earns her living through dealing in shares, has also alleged that the main accused Nasir alias Max Pathan, 50, a resident of Mill Compound area in Shahpur, who is a builder and earlier used to deal in share market, filmed her with video camera and mobile phone to blackmail her to have physical relations with his friends.
“Other accused named in the complaint are Nasir’s brother Shabdar Pathan and his sister Pammi Pathan, Shaukat Pathan, Jehangir Pathan, Ashraf Pathan, Sarfaraz Pathan, Mohammed Ashadullah Pathan, Nikhat Sultana Pathan, Ibrahim Vora and Sajid Syed,” ACP Kanan Desai said. Desai added that police have arrested 4 accused – Nasir Pathan, Shaukat Pathan, Shabdar Pathan and Jehangir Pathan.
“We had sent the arrested accused for medical examination to the civil hospital and are searching for the other accused. We are also searching for the video clipping which according to the woman was filmed by the accused to blackmail her,” said a police official from the women cell.
The woman in her complaint said that accused Nasir , on the pretext of making good profit in the share market, had borrowed money from him for buying a laptop and a scooter.
“The woman said that the accused also extorted jewellery and cash amounting to Rs 15 lakh from her by threatening to publish the video clips in the market,” added Desai. ACP added that it come during the probe that Nasir Pathan and his friends used to sit near a restaurant near Dinbai Tower.
“The woman had done her MCom from a nearby college and hence had come into contact with Nasir and Shaukat. Shaukat also owns a electronic shop on Relief Road. The woman has alleged that accused are related to each other,” added Desai.
