Ahmedabad Traffic police’s novel way of Rakhi celebration to bring more awareness
Today in Ahmedabad city, Traffic police celebrated Rakhi festival in a novel way.
Lady traffic police tied rakhi to commuters who violated traffic rules like not wearing of helmet on two wheeler, overtaking the lane or not putting on seat belt in a car.
In a novel way, Lady traffic police tied rakhi to commuter applied tilak and offered sweets to the commuter. It was a humble gesture in a Gandhian way to bring awareness about traffic rules and safety of self and family members.
Instead of charging commuters with penalty for violating traffic rules, sweets were offered to them.
In the city at 8 traffic points and 16 places the programme of tieing Rakhi by lady traffic police was done.
Ahmedabad traffic police appeared in a lighter mood and displayed posters appealing about traffic rules on SG Highway.
The move was backed by Rotary Majestic Club along with Ahmedabad Traffic Police to bring more traffic awareness.
