Yesterday afteroon, on SG Highway in Ahmedabad one speeding Hyundai I20 car bearing number GJ-1 RN 1999 knocked down two girl riding Honda Activa and crossing service road. One Girl Mansi Vekaria, received head injury as a part of accident. Driver Akshay Soni without stopping the car fled the site. ACP SD Patel, Satellite police on its own registered the case and traced car driver and took car into their custody and initiated investigation.
The car belonged to Alok Thakker, who gave it to his relative Jayendra Thakker. Jayendra gave it his office staff Akshay Soni, resident of Baupanagar who rash drove the car and met with the accident, as per sources.
It is needless to say cases of hit and run are on the rise in Ahmedabad.
