In Ahmedabad, prices of flowers goes up ahead of festive season of Navratri and Dusshera.
Price of Rose flower has gone upto Rs 400 per kg from Rs 80 per kg. Price of rose flower has gone up in last 10 days.
Also, Yellow flower (Galgota) used for puja and garland normally costs Rs 15 per kg , has also gone upto Rs 30 to Rs 40 per kg. It is brought from Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
Demand of flowers has increased against its supply. There is not enough yield of flowers in hot summer like season.
