Today in Ahmedabad, Police held a mega search operation on liquor dens in Chharanagar area.
1 DCP, 2 ACP , 3 PI 7 PSI joined in the house-to-house search operation and 150 police staff cordoned the area.
The mega search operation was led by Zone 1 DCP in Chharanagar area.
Based on tip, the operation was started to curb the activity of local liquor sell. Stock of liquor found was destroyed at the site.
DCP said that 5 teams have been formed and raid on listed bootleggers have been made.
This search operation is done as a part of prohibition drive done in each police station. During Navratri drunk and drive checks are also performed.
Chharanagar is considered to be the epicenter of liquor making and sell in the city.
Presently, 10 cases against bootleggers have been filed by police. More information by police will be provided later. List of bootleggers is updated from time to time.
