A PIL Public Interest Litigation was filed in Gujarat High Court challenging Gujarat Government’s announcement on 10 % reservation to general category under EBC Economically Backward norms. Applicant pleaded that reservation cannot be granted on economical grounds which is against provision of Indian constitution and requested to grant stay on 10 % for EBC in Gujarat. Recently in Punjab and Haryana High Court had granted stay on reservation of Jat of Haryana. Applicant expressed concern on future of general candidates in job if 10 % reservation is granted on EBC norms in Gujarat.
