In Ahmedabad city, AMC Ahmedabad Municiapl Corporation has taken a preventive measure  to control increasing number of suicides by people by jumping into Sabarmati river from one of its bridges. Recently there were news of 4 people committed suicide in 4 hours in Sabarmati River.

Ellis abad bridgenet3bridge has been fixed with metal grill which is 6 feet high with some 100 poles on both the sides of bridge. Similar work has started on Nehru Bridge.
