Ahmedabad Rural Range Police has organized one day seminar on crime and investigation method in which lecture by experts were arranged on various topics. Gujarat Home Minister Rajni Patel launched Mindset Software. The software has capability to fetch mobile tower data, SDR and call data recorder. SDR option of software on providing mobile number gives address and number of simm cards issued from a particular address. With CDR analysis option, information of doubtful mobile numbers is obtained from mobile operators. On provide information to software record gets generated. IEMI number, call frequency, relationship, state connection and from which number and to which number calls were made kind of information is available to police. In Vehicle Research data, on providing vehicle number, name of owner, vehicle model and chassis number related information is available at once.
The software was used to solve Bawla Angadia loot case successfully. DGP Gujarat has a plan to deliver the software to other districts of state after success of Bawla Angadia loot case of Rs 5 crores. In the case, Ahmedabad Rural police got immediate success with the software and found it a very useful tool. Software helped to trace mobile location and analysed mobile data in few minutes which helped to arrest 14 people in crores of Angadia loot case. Following success of Mindset software SP Superintendent of Police Nirlipt Ray and Range IG Inspector General Dr KLN Rao has recommended other departments of police to use the software. SP Ray demonstrated how Mindset Software actually helped to solve Angadia case. When criminals are using technology to their advantage to perform crime, police also should have enough knowledge of technology to prevent crime.
