Work on the initial 6 km of the Vastral-Thaltej route has started with 3 months of approval from center Ahmedabad metro rail. The state government will provide land worth Rs 770 crore for the project. The land will be given to the Ahmedabad Metro Project as subordinate debt. This is a metrol rail stretching on 37.66 kms with 31.43 kms on over bridge and 6.33 kms on surface.
The project is expected to be completed by September 2016.
