In Ahmedabad, today post opening of banks after a gap of 2 days, long queues were lined up outside banks to exchange and deposit old currency notes of Rs 500 and 1000 with new currency notes of Rs 500 and 2000. People were facing hardship and tense to dispose off old currency notes of higher demoniations of 500 and 1000.
From yesterday evening, people were paniced and rushing to encash old currency notes of Rs 500 and 1000, after an announcement by central government to discontinue them.
