Ahmedabad: HSRP number plate fitting date likely to extend
Ahmedabad, HSRP number plate fitting date likely to extend.
Presently, One crore vehicles in the state does not have HSRP number plate and last date for getting HSRP number comes to an end by tomorrow, in such a situation it is likely to get date postponed for fixing HSRP number plates.
State government had issued orders to fix HSRP High Security Registration Plates to curb vehicular crime.
Firstly, last date for fixing HSRP was given by 15th January and when there were still crores of vehicles left without HSRP.
It is learnt that RTO staff has reluctance despite of instructions by RTO to work during Saturdays and Sundays for HSRP. Other RTO related workload also hampers fixing of HSRP. Vehicles owners have come multiple times for fixing just one number plate and do not get proper response from the staff.
In this situation, if government starts penalising crores of vehicle users on completion of second deadline of 15th February is not appropriate, hence request for extending the date has been made to Gujarat government.
Complaints against many dealers for pocketing money in the name of HSRP has been made, on which no action is taken by RTO.
