In Ahmedabad, Manager of a gas agency in Vejalpur area was killed by 3 unidentified assailants late on Tuesday night. Staff present at the spot who tried to save him was also injured in the incident. Teams of Vejalpur and Anandnagar police and crime branch officials rushed to the spot.
Senior city police officials said that checkpoints are alerted across the city to catch the assailants.
According to sources, Rakesh, manager of Jay Jyoti Gas Agency at Durwani Shopping Center on Vastrapur railway station road, was at the office around 9.30 pm when three men entered into his office with their faces covered. Police said that they are yet to ascertain the weapon used but Rakesh was found in pool of blood in his office. Prakash Prajapati, an employee at the agency, who tried to save him, was also injured in the incident. He was rushed to a nearby hospital. Eye-witnesses said that the trio had come on a red bike and fled in the direction of SG Road. Police are searching for CCTV footage in the case.
Sketch of suspect has been released by Police for people’s identification and providing some clue on the culprit.
