In Ahmedabad, Academic year for schools in Gujarat have started and students have started attending schools June 8, but even after 1 week of regular opening of schools Text Books are not available in the market, books shops and at stationery shops. In this situation how students can carry out studies without a text books. Gujarat government has provisioned Rs 78 crores budget to provide free text books to Scheduled Caste students.
There are approximately 20 lakh Scheduled Caste students of Class 9 to 12 in the state Gujarat Textbook Board have failed to provide text books on time in cities like Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, under free text book schemes.
Presently, Scheduled caste students are managing text books by sharing with some students and with whatever is taught to them in the class by their teachers. Students awaits government to do some arrangement for text books on time.
