Ahmedabad yesterday night in Bopal area Fire broke out at Iscon Platinium apartment. At least 15 fire fighter vehicles and 50 fire men reached the spot and with lot of efforts fire was brought under control by fire fighters. About 200 persons trapped in the apartment were evacuated from the building. One 56 years old lady Minaben Shah is dead in this incident. 20 persons were taken for medical treatment in Saraswati and Sola civil hospitals. 14 of them are relieved, while 6 are under treatment as of today morning.
Fire broke out due to bursting of crackers in the passage of the building as today was the festival of Dev Diwali. However Fire team sources said that the fire broke out in electric duct on 8th floor of M Block and gradually reached to above floors in this 22-storey high-rise building.
Fire entered a house on 17th floor, injuring two persons who were taken to the hospital in the 108 ambulance. About 12 ambulances of 108 service rushed at the spot. The persons mostly impacted by smoke and not fire. Incident of fire was reported before in the year 2020 as well in the same apartment.
