In Ahmedabad Police to close four main roads due to Patidar Maha Rally on 25 August wherein some 20 lakh people are expected to join the rally. Patidar rally will be held at GMDC ground near IIM Campus ahmedabad. Different routes will be closed reaching the rally site and they will declared as No Vehicle Zone.
On the rally day no vehicles will be allowed on these roads from 5 am till the end of meet Road from Shivranjani to AEC cross roads ,Nehrunagar Circle, Darpan Circle to Darpan Cross Roads, Vijay Cross Roads till Thaltej via Drive-In and Nehrunagar to Iskon Cross Roads via Shivranjani. In addition police feels it is not practical for those who enter the city via SG Highway to go all the way to the riverfront to park their vehicles and then come back to the GMDC Ground which is around 6 km away. Police officials say that permission has been granted for gathering and not rally.
