Today in Ahmedabad, Consumer Court Bar Association (Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission,Ahmedabad) are protesting against amending of consumer protection law by central government preventing appellant from hiring lawyer in case of a dispute upto Rs 2 lakhs in Consumer Court. They will keep away from work and represent this matter to PM and minister Ramvilas Paswan with 1 lakh signatures from lawyers. Bar association says it will be an attack on consumer’s right and will adversely affect our practice at consume court.
They protested using banner like “Advocates are Assistant of the Court” and “Dispensing Lawyer means Dispensing Justice”, “Justice Can’t be denied to consumers”.
