On the occasion of 146th Rath Yatra of lord Jaganath Prem Veer Singh, IPS, Police Commissioner of Ahmedabad city has issued a notification on regulation of vehicular traffic
The notification has been issued in pursuance of powers delegated under sub-section 33 (1) (b) (c) of the Gujarat Police Act, 1951 and rule 207 of the Gujarat Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
Commissioner made order for easy regulation of vehicular traffic on the occasion of Rath Yatra starting on 20/6/2023 in Ahmedabad city. On the occasion of the 146th Nagar Rath Yatra of Jagannath Temple on 20/6/2023 in Ahmedabad city, public roads in the following areas of Ahmedabad city will be declared as “No Parking Zone” for 2 days on 19/6/2023 and 20/6/2023.
No Parking Zone Road/Area will be from Jagannath temple outside Jamalpur Darwaja to Jamalpur Chakla, Vaishya Sabha, Khamasa, Gol Limda, Astodia Chakla, (including BRTS route) Madan Gopal’s Haveli, Raipur Chakla, Khadia Old Gate, Khadia Char Rasta, Panch Kuwa, Kalupur Circle, Kalupur Over bridge , Saraspur, Prem Darwaja, Jordan Road, Becher Lashkarni Haveli, Dilli Chakla, Halim Ni Khadki, Shahpur Darwaja, Shahpur Chakla, Rangila Chowki, Auttam Pol, RC High School, Dilli Chakla, Ghee Kanta Road, Pankor Nanka, Fuwara, Chandla Od, The area from start of Sankadi Sheri to Manek Chowk Vegetable Market, Dana pith, Khamasa to Jagannath temple.
This notification will be implemented from 19/6/2023 at 00.00 hours to 20/6/2023 subject to the maximum time limit provided under Section-33 of Gujarat Police Act, 1951. till Rath Yatra has to be over.
Anyone violating the orders of this notification shall be liable to punishment under Section 188 of IPC Indian Penal Code and Section 131 of the Gujarat Police Act. According to this order, all officers/employees from the rank of Special/Joint/Additional Commissioner of Police to Police Constable serving in Ahmedabad Commissionerate have been issued notice against the persons violating this notification. Under Section-188 and Section-131 of the Gujarat Police Act, complaints are authorized.
