On 1 January, in Heritage Walk 2017 was organized by AMC Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. Gautam Shah Ahmedabad Mayor Heritage Walk flags off the Heritage Walk of Ahmedabad. Among dignitaries Standing Committee Chairman Pravin Patel, Recreational and Cultural Heritage Bijalben Patel, Mayur Dave Councillor chairperson of Sabarmati Riverfront Development Project were present among other dignitaries. The walk started from Swaminarayan Temple in Kalupur.
Many Indian and foreign tourists visits heritage sites including architectural monuments depicting history and culture of Gujarat. In Ahmedabad city many heritage buildings from pole in walled city area, temple and mosques are specially maintained by AMC. Visitors coming at Heritage Walk are taken around the places in Ahmedabad by a team of AMC officials. The move is backed by Gujarat Tourism of Gujarat state as a promotion of tourism industry in Gujarat and India.
