Today in Ahmedabad, even after a month on currency ban by government. It is learnt that on Anandnagar Road and in most areas, ATM machines are down due to lack of cash available to banks.
Queues at banks have been normalized but limit of withdrawal of Rs 10,000 and Rs 24,000 was found to be inadequate. As people iwth big says it is impossible to run family with Rs 10,000 in a month. We are unable to pay school fees of our kids.
They expressed many practical difficulties.
People re not able to concentrate on their job as either they have to stand in queue to get money for monthly expense. Whether they will do job or stand in queue feels most salary class people. Businessman are not able to pay wages to their staff due to limit by banks on cash dispensing.
Currency note of Rs 2000 has problems as, when trying to encash with lesser expense exchange, difficulty in getting change for the balance amount, as per source.
