In Ahmedabad, police arrest 29 students of NID National Institute of Design located in Paldi. There were 15 boys and 14 girls out of 29 NID students arrested red handed drinking wine by police. 1 girl is from Johhanisberg. KN Chavda ACP D Division is investigating the case.
Chavda talked to media that stuff worth Rs 1.26 lakhs including 1 full whisky bottle, half bottle of gin, 10 quarters full of wine, half quarter of wine and 22 mobiles were recovered from the site. Two teams of PSI Mahendra Chavda and PSI Bhoji has been formed and we will do thorough checking as this is a successful raid. Passport of girl from Johhanisberg will be probed for she on which type of Visa. We check for the source of liquor and find out from the owner where students were staying whether he was aware of such party or about their movements.
Last night at 1:30 pm, neighbors lodged complaint by calling over police control on 100 number over playing loud music by NID students and enjoying liquor party.
Blood samples of students have not yet been collected.
It is learnt that on 31st December also, NID Director of warned to be refrain from liquor party by NID students.
Where entryn to NID campus is very strict, finding of liquor and party by students raises questions on the institute management.
