Ahmed Patel  Congress treasurer and close confidante of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi & their mother, is still fighting a legal battle to hold on to his Rajya Sabha seat from Gujarat.

In Ahmedabad, Patel appears for cross examination by lawyers in Gujarat High Court today.

On 9 August 2017 Patel was re-elected to Rajya Sabha defeating BJP’s Balwant Singh. There was a tough battle between Ahmed Patel of Congress and Balwant Singh of BJP.
