Gandhinagar, 08th January, 2025: Aarihant Homeopathic Medical College and Research Institute(AHMC&RI) organized a Thalassemia Awareness Program on Monday to raise awareness about thalassemia, its causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment options. The event aimed to educate students, staff, and the general public about the importance of genetic counseling and testing.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Khushboo Prajapati and Dr. Priyanka Chauhan, Assistant Professors at the college. Minaxi Jaisinghani, President of Lions Club, Dhaval Dave, Character Building Chairman, and Dr. Suketu Mehta were invited as speakers for the event.
The primary objective of the program was to create awareness about thalassemia among students, staff, and the general public, educate participants on the importance of genetic counseling and testingand promote strategies for thalassemia prevention and management.
Dr. Suketu Mehta, a renowned expert in the field of thalassemia, delivered a comprehensive lecture on the causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment options of the condition. The lecture was followed by an interactive session where Dr. Mehta addressed participants’ questions and concerns.
The program received overwhelming feedback, with participants appreciating the informative and engaging sessions.
