Mr Perfectionist and Bollywood star Aamir Khan has been replaced as the brand ambassador of Incredible India and now he has been dropped from the government’s road safety campaign also. Aamir Khan, was removed as the mascot of ‘Incredible India’ campaign after 10 years, had said he respects the government’s decision to “discontinue” his services while making it clear that he never charged anything for the task.
According to a report in media , Aamir Khan has been dropped from a road safety drive, apparently over ‘intolerance’ controversy. Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road transport and highways had personally approached him after watching an episode of his TV show, Satyamev Jayate, The episode was called “Road Accidents or Murders?” in October that year then Aamir Khan was signed as the brand ambassador for the road safety campaign in December 2014.Aamir Khan committed to feature in ads for the road safety campaign free of cost after a meeting with Gadkari in Mumbai.
