Today in Gandhinagar TET-TAT The Teacher’s Eligibility Test (TET) – Teacher’s Aptitude Test (TAT) pass-outs gathered in big number and staged protest. TET-TAT protestors carry playcard and banners demanding permanent recruitment of teachers. Police is trying to stop TET- TAT aspirants and protestors on the roads of Gandhinagar near Sachivalay Bhavan.
Last year Gujarat government introduced Gyan Sahayak Bharti policy for appointment of contract teachers through outsourcing the contract of providing teachers. Instead of permanent appontments, government has started temporary hiring plan for gyan sahayaks. Therefore aspirants lead to protests and dissatisfaction against government. Many vacancy in primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools are not filled as thousands of candidates were not ready to join under temporary contract agreement for 11 months. They are seeking permanent teacher’s job and not temporary contractual job.
