Three Million Trees campaign launched by Bhupendra Patel on World Environment Day

Greenery is need of the hour. Today, there was a special desire to plant and grow more trees on the occasion of World Environment Day. Pursuant to which, Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel visited the ‘Namo Vad One’ constructed at Gandhinagar and got information about the trees and other arrangements planted there. CM Patel planted trees on the occasion to launch and accomplish the objective of Three Million Trees campaign.

In the forest built in one hectare area in Gandhinagar, 6500 saplings of various species are being planed together with small and big saplings and flower-plants. Arrangements have also been made to use less water in nurturing of plants.

On the occasion of 75 years of Independence of India, as part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mohotsav, a target has been set-up to construct ‘Namo Vad One’ at 75 places in all 33 districts of Gujarat state, against which 82 forests have been constructed till now. About 175 Banyan saplings have been planted in each forest.
