Obama administration preparing to welcome Narendra Modi

It is learnt that Obama administration is preparing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to US scehduled during September 29-30 this month. It is rolling out the red carpet for the man Washington shunned for nearly a decade by hosting him for two days, including a private dinner with the president.

Yesterday, in a formal communication by White House said “President Obama looks forward to welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India to the White House on September 29-30, 2014” with a back-to-back two meetings between the leaders. It is expected that Obama will host one on September 29 evening after Narendra Modi’s arrival from New York City following three days of UN related visit and a community reception at the Madison Square Gardens. The formal White House bilateral and delegation level meetings will take place on September 30, with vice-president Joe Biden hosting a lunch at the US State Department.
