Today Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held a meeting with Chairman of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Shri Tadashi Maeda, Governor Shri Hayashi Nobumitsu and other office bearers as part of the meetings held with various trade organizations and financial institutions on the second day of his visit to Japan. discussed projects implemented in Gujarat and India with the support of JBIC. As Dholera SIR is one of the focus areas for Japanese investors, outlined opportunities of investment in the region and the incentives being provided by the State government.

Recalled memories of Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi’s first visit to Japan as the then Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2007, the Chief Minister said that as a result of his visit, bilateral relations between Gujarat and Japan have become stronger. The Chief Minister referred to Ms. Koike Yuriko’s participation in the Urban-20 Mayoral Summit held in Ahmedabad as part of the G-20 Summit. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, she was given the role of smart development of Gujarat’s cities. The Chief Minister Patel had invited Ms. Koike Yuriko to participate in the upcoming VGGS 2024 and also in the meeting between Japan and Gujarat. Expressed hope to further strengthen bridge of mutual cooperation in smart cities and sustainable urban development sector.
The Chief Minister said that India-Gujarat has become ‘Best Investment Destination’ for global investors due to visionary leadership of Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi’s policy of Ease of Doing Business. In response, Gujarat Chief Minister’s Invitation to attend the upcoming VGGS 2024 Vibrant Gujarat Global Business Summit 2024 citing long standing collaboration between Gujarat and JBIC, Chairman of JBIC expressed his keenness to work with the Government of Gujarat through a Vibrant Summit regarding Dholera SIR as a focus area for Japanese investors.

During the meeting, important discussions were held on strengthening the long-term partnership between JETRO and Gujarat and attracting investment in sectors like Semiconductors, Green Technology, Medical Devices, Bulk Drugs, Textiles, Ceramics etc. in the state. The Chief Minister had invited the members of JETRO to participate in the Vikas Yatra of Gujarat by participating in the upcoming VGGS 2024.
