Today Bharatiya Janta Party announced Pratibha Jain as Ahmedabad Mayor and Jatin Patel as Deputy Mayor. Pratibha Jain is a senior councilor from Shahibaug ward Also Dewang Dani was appointed as Standing Committee Chairman. Gaurang Prajapati appointed as leader of ruling party.
Candidate names were finalised by ruling BJP’s state parliamentary board in a series of meetings in Gandhinagar last week. The new office bearers shall be on these posts for two and half years after the previous term of elected office bearers ended. The post of the Mayor was reserved for this term for a woman councilor.
