Today 26th meeting of Western Zonal Council was held today in Gandhinagar, Gujarat under chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Mr Amit Shah also inaugurated E-Resource web portal at https://iscs-eresource.gov.in, Inter-State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs will help facilitate functioning of Zonal Councils.

The 3 new bills recently introduced by Modi government in Parliament – the Indian Civil Code Bill, the Indian Civil Defense Code Bill and the Indian Powers Bill – after passing, no case can prolong for more than 2 years
The Home Minister asked all states to work towards creating the basic infrastructure and capacity required for implementation of these laws.
West Zone is an important zone of India and this area is hub of Finance, IT, Diamond, Petroleum, Automobile and Defense with a contribution of 25% in India’s GDP.
The member countries of the Western Zonal Council have long coastlines, which are highly vulnerable, which require sustained efforts to ensure tight security by institutions and industries.
