65 families of nomadic caste gets permanent accommodation in Rajkot district

Gandhinagar, Friday: Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has stated that Gujarat will be at the forefront in realizing the commitment of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to bring the deprived Antyodaya families into the mainstream of development, including the nomadic and emancipated castes. In this regard, he said, that the government is always ready to provide water, light, road and shelter, education to their children and other infrastructural facilities to such nomadic class.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel allotted accommodation to 65 families of nomadic and emancipated castes in Rampara Beti of Rajkot district under “Vagadamathi Vhalapani Vasahat”. In this program organized by Rajkot district administration, 19 plot holders were distributed papers and more than 300 beneficiaries were given 40 square meters of land for housing construction.
Under Pandit Din Dayal Awas Yojana State Government will provide assistance of Rs. 1.20 lakh for construction of houses for socially and educationally backward classes, economically backward classes, including the homeless people of nomadic emancipated castes. A total of Rs 110 crore has been paid so far to the 24,352 beneficiaries of nomadic castes in the state. Also 65 houses that have been built in Rajkot under “Vagadamathi Vhalapani Vasahat” have been given assistance of Rs. 1.20 lakh.
Under Ujjwala Yojana 29 gas cylinder kits, with addition to that Rs. 648.70 lakh for newly constructed houses for police at Atkot, Rs. 1443. 60 lakh houses constructed at Rajkot Rural Police Mavdi Headquarter were e-dedicated. Along with this he also inaugurated a vending machine distributing sanitary pads and 650 RO’s providing pure drinking water at Rampara Beti.
Rajkot District Minister in charge and Minister of Education Shri Jitu Vaghani , Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri R.C. Makwana, MP Shri Mohan Kundariya as well as MLA’s and office bearers of districts witnessed the event. The Chief Minister made it clear that under the guidance and leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, any scheme of the government is centrally planned to benefit the people of the smallest, the poorest, the deprived and the people residing in hinterland. The Chief Minister also elaborated on the state government’s constant concern under the direction of Shri Narendra Modi that especially those castes who do not have any permanent residence of their own can get permanent housing and their children can get a good education by staying in such housing estates.
Shri Bhupendra Patel said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has started such housing and free land plot allotment scheme since 2005 to provide basic facilities to people. The nomadic people have been given dignity along with accommodation so that they do not have to live in any shelter. He also congratulated the Rajkot district administration for such housing allocation, distribution programs for the welfare of the people residing in hinterland and for doing something for them. He also inspired the system to for their good work during pandemic to provide free food and comprehensive vaccinations to protect the health of the poor so that no one goes hungry during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also termed education as the foundation of state-nation development, adding that with the provision of permanent housing facility, the children of nomadic families would now be able to get permanent education.
Gujarat has become a growth engine with the inspiration of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi He also called upon to make speedy development in the fields of education, health and security. Conveying good wishes to the beneficiaries for a happy future, the Chief Minister also said that the state government has always stood by them for providing facilities like school for education, assistance for housing etc. Minister of Education and Minister in charge of the district Shri Jitu Vaghani described today’s program as socially useful and sensitive. The Chief Minister has become a blessing in disguise for the nomadic people by providing permanent address and living facilities to the citizens with business skills. He hoped that the nomadic people would be able to join the mainstream by availing this facility. The Education Minister informed that the Chief Minister has also given necessary instructions to the district administration to build a 200-room hostel for the education of children of such families.
Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri R. C. Makwana presented the details of the development plan undertaken by the state government for the nomadic people and the Chief Minister gave a brief account of the development work done for the poor and disadvantaged in the state. Minister Makwana appreciated the activities of the Vicharta Samuday Samarthan Manch- VSSM.
District Collector Shri Arun Mahesh Babu in his welcome address expressed his gratitude to the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment as well as the Minister of Rajkot and the District Panchayat President for resolving various issues of Rajkot. Sarpanches of various villages welcomed the Chief Minister. Shri Ajaybhai Sorani, a leader of the nomadic community, donated a cheque of Rs. 51,000 was handed over to the Chief Minister.
VSSM Mittal Patel, a leader of the organization, thanked the Chief Minister for taking the opportunity. The nomadic tribes are getting a lot of change in their lives as they get water and electricity along with the settlement and they are eligible for various assistance from the state government, he added.
