Gujarat Science City at Ahmedabad starts a four-day orientation program for school students interested in applying for Knowledge based Olympiads. In all 35o students of Class XI and XII have registered for Olympiads. First three days will be devoted to Class XI and XII students, who are eligible for Olympiads in physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology and astronomy . Further students will qualify for Junior Science Olympiad which is held in subjects of science and earth science. September 15 is the cut off for the olympiads. Goal of Science Olympiads is to encourage greater cooperation and contact among secondary and higher secondary students worldwide.
Science City, aim for preparing around 5,000 students for the preliminary rounds. Qualities from students expected are keen interest in subject, inventiveness, critical analysis, creativity and perseverance.
