A journey to India-China border near Tawang by Gujarat’s leading journalists.
In second week of December 2021, Rashtriya Rakhsa University RRU Gandhinagar and Arunachal Pradesh hosted a study tour for a week to witness the facilities vis-à-vis difficulties along India-China border for Indian Army. GujaratHeadline was invited for the study tour of sensitization and cultural study of Arunachal Pradesh and nearby bordering region.
There is an MOU Memorandum of Understanding signed between RRU and Arunachal Pradesh police on training of police DYSP at RRU Gandhinagar.
Arunachal Pradesh DGP RP Upadhyay briefed about various training program. Visit to different schools and colleges were conducted as a part of study tour, interaction with Shri Upadhyaya DGP Arunachal Pradesh Police were held.
Protecting students from North-East states and from Adjacent to international borders of countries including China, Leh-Ladakh will be given admission in the university under special 20 % quota. Students will be given special education coming from region with adverse weather conditions. It will raise their education level and generate employment opportunity in their own region by serving motherland.
A cultural program was organized depicting folk songs and dance of the region.
Madhuri lake is famous sight seeing spot, where Koyla movie of Rakesh Roshan was picturised on Madhuri Dixit and Shahrukh Khan and later Samtheshwar lake became popular lak as Madhuri lake.
Bum La Pass located At 15,200 feet above sea level along Indian side of LAC, , under extreme cold and windy weather, is lying between India’s Tawang district and Chinese-occupied Tibet Autonomous Region.
Rocks are painted at the Bumla pass with patriotic slogans.
Tawang is surrounded by four internationalcountry boundaries including Bhutan, China, Myanmar and Nepal.
Bum La Pass is a border pass between Tibet’s Cona County and India’s Tawang district in Arunachal Pradesh state.
Bum La, stands for “a pass between mountains”, is marked by mountain ranges dividing the region between India’s Arunachal Pradesh and China’s Cona county. A big white rock placed on a mountain range on the Indian side is a memorial named after brave Subedar Joginder Singh, who
along with 21 other soldiers of the Indian Army died combating the Chinese troops at the Bum La sector on September 28, 1962. Subedar Singh is remembered as the “the Bum La Tiger” by Indian Army.
Oxygen supply is very less on higher altitude, temperature falls upto – 15
degrees in the night. Camps set up by the Indian Army to provide oxygen, medical support, tea and facilities to the soldiers and a few handful of tourists, who come to the LAC.
Bum La is located 30 kilometres from Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh’s border district located 10,000 feet above sea level. Local people need a special pass from the Tawang’s local authority. Visitors and officials are advised to start their journey at 9 am as the sun sets at 4:30 pm in Tawang, SUV vehciles
by local travel agencies is preferred by tourists due to treacherous roads running from Tawang to Bum La.
