Gujarat government’s big decision on Janmashtami festival celebration about night curfew. It will start on August 30 at 1 am in night. Curfew has been relaxed for Krishna Janmotsav (birth of lord Krishna) so that 200 people are allowed in temple premises in wake of Coronavirus pandemic.
Krishna Janmostsav Janmashtami, also known as Gokulashtami, is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of lord Krishna, eighth avatar of lord Vishnu. It is observed as per Hindu lunisolar calendar, on eighth day (Ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in Shraavana or Bhadrapad (depending on whether the calendar chooses the new moon or full moon day as the last day of the month), which overlaps with August or September of the Gregorian calendar.
