- Preparation of the system against possible third wave of Corona – The focus will be on survey of senior citizens and children
Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama reviews health preparations at Ahmedabad District Collectorate office.
State government has taken measures to fight Corona epidemic. As a result, effect of it Corona is gradually diminishing. As a precautionary measure, the state government has also prepared well for possible third wave of Corona. Education Minister Chudasama today conducted a comprehensive review of advance action taken by district administration to mitigate effects of this possible wave in Ahmedabad district.
Education Minister said that so far measures like adequate beds, ventilator beds, distribution of oxygen, remedesvir injection distribution and comprehensive vaccination in hospitals have resulted in greater control over corona. At the same time, social campaigns like ‘Maru Gaam, Corona Mukta Gaam’ have also been a major contributor to the campaign, which will be able to counteract deadly effects of potential third wave of ‘health infrastructure’ established at village level across the state. At the same time, emphasis will be laid on efficiency-growth-capacity building of health infrastructure, he added. At the same time, if a third wave situation arises, adequate beds in hospitals, adequate supply of oxygen cylinders for availability of oxygen have been ensured. Also, more oxygen plant operations are planned.
Ahmedabad District Collector Sandeep Sagle said that Ahmedabad District Administration has made special arrangements based on previous experiences. To protect elderly and young children and youth in the district from possible effects, it has decided to pay special attention to the age-old survey-screening.
It may be mentioned here that vaccination operations in Ahmedabad district have also been made comprehensive and result oriented. So far, health workers have been given both doses of the Corona vaccine. While 100% front line workers have been given first dose and 82% have been given second dose. The first dose has been given to people with age group of 45 years and above and vaccination of people in age group of 18 years is in progress.
