Today in Ahmedabad city, Laldarwaja market was closed down due to heavy shopping rush and violation of Covid-19 norms including social distancing and compulsorily wearing of face masks. People rush to market for necessary articles and vegetables/fruits etc. Hundred thousands of people rush to market creating atmosphere of chaos.
Roadside street hawkers and vendors were forced to closed down their shops /outlets.
There is a Sunday market held near Laldarwaja called Gujari, which is very popular among local people and things at cheaper rate or for refurbished / secondhand goods.
