Death penalty to rapist and murderer in 3 years old girl rape and murder case of Surat considering the case under rarest of rare category.
Rape incident took place on 31st July in Surat. Additional Judge PS Kalani of Sessions court had granted death penalty to the convict. Convict tied dead body of victim girl in a jute bag and locked room from outside. Gujarat high court upheld rape accused Anil Yadav’s death penalty after examining all the aspects.
Convict residing at Limbayat abducted a minor girl from his neighbourhood raped and murdered her. He was identified from CCTV footage and deadbody of victim girl was found Anil’s room. After the incident Anil fled to Nadurbar. High court judge felt life imprisonment was not enough.
Convict is charged with IPC provisions under section 302, 366, 376 AB, 377, 201, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences POCSO 3(a), POCSO 5(m), POCSO-4,POCSO-6 and POCSO-8.
35 witnesses were examined and chargesheet was filed in one month. Police collected evidence swiftly and submitted to the court. In rape and murder case of minor girl, Trial was completed in 5 months.
Gujarat police arrested the rapist.
