Miracle in Medical Science : 98 years old patient survives after heart surgery in Ahmedabad
At that time, patient also suffering with kidney failure, diabetes and pneumonia
Ahmedabad,22nd August 2018 – The awareness regarding treatment of aged persons has been increased in families. When family feels better feelings regarding the protection of the aged persons in the home and trusting and approving the doctor for risky treatment for them, then doctor also want to give them new life with experience and skills. In this type of case of Rajasthan Hospital, Chief Interventional Cardiologist gave new life to 98 years old patient with the help of ‘Permanent Pacemaker Machine’. This is the first incident in itself.
Chief Interventional Cardiologist of Rajasthan Hospital which is managed by trust, Dr. Hitesh Shah gave new life to 98 years old patient who is suffering with illness like Kidney Failure, Pneumonia and Diabetes by putting a pacemaker. In Gujarat State, this is the first case in which a doctor had successfully put a pacemaker in 98 years old patient with such critical complications. So, this case is been processing to be publish in medical journal. The family of the patient will be present at the conference and inspire others to protect the elders.
Dr. Hitesh Shah Said that 98 years old Manibhai Panchal was admitted at the hospital with unconscious situation on 5th July at 5 am.
At that time, Respiratory system of the patient not working well and his heartbeats were less than 30 and also The level of oxygen was lower than 70%.
But, Relatives of Manibhai said , ‘we trust your treatment and you have to save him any how.’ Dr. Shah Said, ‘So, I immediately started the treatment with the help of my team after seeing their faith on me. First of all, we put temporary pacemaker machine (TPI) on him and we put him on ventilator. He get back his consciousness after 24 hours. We got him off the ventilator 48 hours but permanent pace maker was essential for a permanent solution.
But, The procedure was life threatening for patient who is suffering with Kidney failure and other complications. We made all arrangements with all cautions and after 10th July we have done successful surgery of putting a permanent pace maker. He was kept under observation for 7 days at the hospital. On 17th July, with full recovery, he was discharged.
Why Situation was critical?
Patient was unconscious and his respiratory system not working well and his heartbeats were less than 30 and also the level of oxygen was lower. At that time, patient also suffering with kidney failure, diabetes and pneumonia. He had also severe heart attack 5 years ago. At that time, Dr. Hitesh Shah performed angioplasty. So, life threatening risk of infection, heart puncture, fluid and death on operation table was high.
Lack of treatment could have caused death of the patient
If the level of illness of Heart blockage (lower heart beats) is 0.04 % and patient is old than more complications could happened. So, in many cases, lack of immediate treatment is responsible for patient’s death.

This is the first incident in itself of Gujarat state. No one has reported any case such as putting a PPI successfully. As a result, medical journal will publish this first ever happened case of Gujarat State.
