A 60-year-old woman, resident of Kankaria area of the city has accused a youth Aadish Jarodia of threatening to spread private photos of her daughter on social media if her daughter on social media if her daughter did not pay him $1,014.
According to her complaint, Jarodia called up her daughter, who now lives in Canada, and gave her threats. The woman has also alleged that Jarodia, who lives in Mangaldeep Apartment, also barged into her house one night while inebriated and hurled abuses at her. “We have arrested Jarodia under sections of extortion and IT act,” said an official of Kagdapith police station. Police officials said the girl and Joradia had known each other for about four months. “However, before going to Canada to pursue further studies the girl had snapped her ties with with him,” said a police source.
The woman has alleged that her daughter called her up and said that Jarodia has threatened her on mail that if she does not talk to her and give her $1,014 he would spread her private photos on social media. “The same night, Jarodia barged into the woman’s house at night in an inebriated condition. The woman called up the police control room but Jarodia fled before we arrived. We arrested Jarodia on Tuesday night,” said a police official.
