Gujarat government cancels notification on use of Bulletproof Jacket by Amarnath Yatra pilgrims

Today in Gandhinagar, Gujarat Law minister Pradipsinh Jadeja cancelled the notification prescribed by Road and Transport ministry on using Bulletproof Jackets by Amarnath Pilgrims.

People planning to go for Amarnath Yatra from Gujarat will have to spend more money on Bulletproof jackets.

The notification on use of Bulletproof Jackets by Amarnath Pilgrims was released on 16 March. There was a strong protest by opposition leaders in Gujarat Assembly.

Opposition leader Paresh Dhanani criticized Gujarat government’s decision to cancel notification of use of Bulletproof Jackets by Amarnath Pilgrims. He said during UPA rule, such a situation never arised.
