National level World WildLife Day celebration in Gujarat at Sasan Gir
Today Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in the presence of Union Minister for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences, Environment, Forests & Climate Change Dr. Harshvardhan inaugurated the national level celebrations of the World Wildlife Celebration Day at Sasan Gir.
Gujarat CM along with Union Minister Dr. Harshvardhan inaugurated national seminar on “Big Cats : Predators under Threat” and visited exhibition on wildlife organized by Forest Department at Sinh Sadan in Sasan Gir.
Also launched a coffee-table book and CD on ‘Lions of Gir’ and also performed symbolic plantation in Sasan Gir to mark the World Wildlife Celebration Day.
World Wildlife Day on March 3 every year is celebrated to raise awareness of endangered animals and plants, and ways to fight against wildlife crime.
Speking on the occasion Gujarat CM said Forests and wildlife are the assets of Gujarat and conservation of this spectacular bio-diversity is our collective responsibility. Gujarat Government has been committed to protection of wildlife and conservation of forests
