Salaries of ASHA workers hiked by 50 pct; benefits to farmers

Today in Gandhinagar, in wake of Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017, Gujarat Government announces various schemes for government Asha workers and farmers.

Gujarat deputy chief minister Nitin Patel declared series of reliefs and pay hikes for farmers and workers.

Arrangements for farmers to get 18 % relief on GST for drip irrigation by government. 90 % subsidy to Adivasi farmers and 70-80 % subsidy for other farmers. Also Gujarat Government gives 50 % hike in the salaries of ASHA workers in the state. Number of leave increased to 15 for fixed salary staff in government. 90 days paternity leave for fixed salary staff. Rs 2 lakhs compensation in case of death of employees. 40,000 ASHA workers to get benefit of recent announcement. It will put additional burden of Rs 78 crores on the government treasury.
