Mumbai Bridge Collapse killed 22 : Latest News, videos and updates
Today morning during rush hours at 10 hrs in Parel, Mumbai station stampede killed at least 22 people and injured when a shed of bridge collapsed at Elphistone railway station‘s foot over bridge. It was raining when the tragedy happened. Out of 22 victims, there were 18 women and 4 men. Injured have been shifted to nearby KEM hospital. Out of 30 injured, 20 are said to be seriousl injured. When people ran due to stampede, their chappal came out and many lost their lives.

Localites complaint that the bridge is very enchroached by hawkers and police is silent by pocketing hapta of Rs 30 to Rs 40 from per hawker and allowing them to do business on congested bridge. Police came very late and the incident happened next to railway office but no immediate help was provided. People rescued other victims without help from state administration. They also added that demand for separate bridge or renovation of existing one was state administration but the plea has fallen on deaf ears.
